Biography

Qualifications

Grace has completed a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and is currently in the final stages of completing her Juris Doctorate at the University of Newcastle.

Experience

Grace has a special interest in matters relating to human rights and is highly ambitioned to develop her legal practice as an advocate for others. Alongside her studies for her Juris Doctorate at the University of Newcastle, Grace is cultivating skills in legal design, by looking at human-centred solutions for legal systems, documentation, and legal service provision. In a highly technical and individualised field of law such as immigration, this area of study will be highly valuable now and into the future of legal practice.

Personal Interests

When not focused on her studies or part-time role with Ruppert Legal, Grace enjoys our beautiful coastline and local beaches, a world away from her home.  Grace also enjoys the arts, including practising painting, drawing, and ceramics as well as visiting galleries both here and in Sydney for inspiration.

Publications

Grace has been an active volunteer at the Centre for Law and Social Justice at the University of Newcastle.  During her studies, she was a contributor to a new resource, “Refugee Family Reunion”, produced by the Newcastle Migration Research Network.  This resource was designed “to assist people from a forced migration background to make informed decisions regarding Australia’s humanitarian visa as a pathway to reunite their family.”
