Increased Migration Cap and a Commitment to Fix Visa Backlog

Ruppert Legal welcomes the Australian government’s decision to increase its migration cap from 160,000 to 195,000 per year. The Home Affairs minister Clare O'Neil and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese both agree on the importance of focusing on permanent migration options to address labour shortages. This will be long-awaited news for our clients.

The government has also committed to a 36.1 million dollars to address visa backlogs by increasing their staff capacity by 500 people for the next nine months. More information can be found in the full news article here.
